Mental health budgets cut by 8%, according to new research

Mental health trusts in England have had their budgets cut by more than 8% in real terms over the course of this parliament, according to new research.

The reduction was revealed following an investigation by BBC News and the online journal, Community Care.

But the Department of Health insists that funding has increased over the past year.
