Doctors face action over antibiotics
Ten million unnecessary prescriptions are written for antibiotics in England every year, according to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
NICE, the body which advises the NHS about medicines, also says doctors and dentists who prescribe antibiotics "inappropriately" should face action from their regulators.
The Royal College of GPs says the call for punishment is counter-productive and unhelpful.
