Social care cuts 'will affect dignity and health', say charities

The NHS, charities, council leaders and care providers have all written to the chancellor ahead of his spending review.

They say the squeeze on council funding across England risks compromising the dignity, health and wellbeing of the elderly and disabled and cause a "deepening crisis".

The government says it is already providing extra funding.
