Talks over junior doctors strike action to begin

Talks to stop planned strikes by junior doctors in England are due to begin today.

Representatives from the British Medical Association (BMA) and the government have agreed to meet at the conciliation service Acas.

The talks come despite the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt initially saying that BMA officials should come back to the negotiating table first.
