Why are fewer British young people drinking alcohol?

The number of young people drinking in the UK has seen a dramatic decline over ten years, according to an NHS schools survey.

In 2001, 26% of 11 to 15-year-olds in England and Wales said they had drunk alcohol in the previous week - that had declined to 12% by 2011.

Drug use has also seen a similar decline so it does not appear that one is being replaced with the other.

BBC Asian Network presenter and non-drinker Yasser Ranjha asked a group of 14 to 18-year-olds from different backgrounds why they avoid alcohol.
