Stroke stem cell trial shows promise

A small group of stroke patients have shown some signs of recovery after having stem cells injected into their brains in the first stage of a clinical trial.

The doctor running the trial, Professor Keith Muir, says he is "surprised" by the mild to moderate improvements in the five patients.
