Has this Norfolk coast been saved from storm erosion?
In 2019, 1.8 million cubic tonnes of sand was placed along Bacton beach as part of a £20m project to help prevent erosion to its coastline and protect a nearby village and gas terminal.
Now engineers are surveying the sand, which has since shifted down the beach and into the shallows to create a sand barrier.
They say it is this barrier which has protected against recent storms by breaking the energy of the waves.
