Foreign Office defends its response to the Libya crisis

The Foreign Office has defended its response to the Libya crisis and says it is doing everything it can to evacuate British citizens.

At least 300 Britons are awaiting evacuation from Tripoli, with at least a hundred more stranded in desert camps unable to reach the airport.

Foreign Office Minister Alistair Burt told the BBC two chartered flights were making their way to Libya on Wednesday evening.
