Hutton sets out public pension reforms
Lord Hutton has set out proposals for far-reaching changes to public sector pensions which would see workers pay more in contributions, retire later in life and earn less in retirement.
The former Labour Minister said that everyone had to share the burden of increased costs caused by people living longer.
If accepted by the government the proposals would not come into force until 2015.
Lord Hutton said a career average pension scheme would be fairer for many public sector workers.
