NHS bill: 'Must be shelved in its current form'

There is growing tension within the coalition over the planned shake-up of the NHS in England.

The Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has warned that his party could block the measures unless there are "substantial changes".

MPs have this afternoon been debating the Government's proposals and the shadow health secretary John Healey said it was a "test to the Prime Minister's promise to protect the NHS".
