Ed Miliband urges government to shelve 'bad' NHS bill

Labour leader Ed Miliband has said that the government should "dump" its controversial bill on NHS reforms and "go back to the drawing board".

His comments came after the Royal College of GPs warned that a section of the Health Bill which encourages greater competition must be rewritten, as it risks "unravelling and dismantling" the NHS.

The Royal College is one of a number of organisations lobbying Downing Street directly to make changes to the draft legislation.
