Injured patients 'stable' after M5 crash
"Several" people were killed and 43 injured in a 27-vehicle crash on the M5 near Taunton, Somerset, police say.
Officers said the crash, which happened close to junction 25 northbound at about 20:30 GMT on Friday, led to a "massive fireball" at the scene.
The cause of the crash is not yet clear but there had been heavy rain in the area earlier and there was patchy fog.
Dr Colin Close from Musgrove hospital described the injuries sustained by those admitted.
