M5 crash: 'Bank of smoke may have been to blame'

Police investigating the deadly crash on the M5 near Taunton on Friday, have said they believe a "bank of smoke, similar to a fog bank", may have been to blame.

The Highways Agency says it hopes to have the southbound carriageway near Junction 25 in Taunton open by 5pm this evening, but repair work on the northbound carriageway means it is not expected to open until Monday morning.

Assistant Chief Constable Anthony Bangham from Avon and Somerset Police, outlined what he thought had caused the accident.
