Sir Chris Bonington emotional about torch relay on Snowdon

Sir Chris Bonington has described his own emotional journey in carrying the Olympic torch to the summit of Snowdon, on day 11 of the torch relay.

The 77-year-old mountaineer, who began his climbing career on Snowdon 61 years ago, said being part of the event "means an awful lot".

A large crowd had gathered around the trig point at the summit of Wales' highest mountain and cheered Sir Chris as he reached the top.

Day 11 of the relay saw the torch being carried from Beaumaris to Chester.
