Government told to 'get a grip' on Olympic security firm G4S

MPs have warned the government to "get a grip" on security firm G4S to ensure the Olympic Games run smoothly.

The Commons Public Accounts Committee says the company, whose staff shortages have meant an extra 3,500 soldiers being drafted in, should be fined.

Its chairman, Labour MP Margaret Hodge, said the "chaos" had been "predictable" and had undermined confidence in the Olympic organisers.

But the government said it was on track to deliver a great Games.

Gary O'Donoghue reports.
