Homes at risk of flooding 'could lose their insurance'

The Association of British Insurers says a more sustainable way forward must be found to ensure that homes at risk of flooding have affordable insurance in the future.

Talks between insurance companies and the government are in deadlock over the issue and it is claimed that if no deal is agreed, up to 200,000 people will not be able to get affordable cover.

Huw Evans, from the ABI, told BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast that a not-for-profit insurance fund could be a solution.
