Keith Vaz: Computer smashing 'bordering on James Bond'

No 10 was "kept abreast" of the decision to detain David Miranda, the partner of Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald, a spokesman has said.

Mr Miranda was held at Heathrow for nine hours on Sunday, while in transit from Germany to Brazil.

The Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee, Keith Vaz said it was good that the home secretary made it clear she had nothing to do with the decision to question Mr Miranda, but the Guardian smashing up computers whilst being watched by officials from GCHQ was "extraordinary" and "almost bordering on James Bond."
