PM David Cameron 'hopeful' over Grangemouth dispute

Prime Minister David Cameron has said he remains hopeful a resolution to the dispute over the future of Grangemouth petrochemical plant can be reached.

The owner of the central Scotland complex, Ineos, announced on Wednesday it would close with the loss of 800 jobs.

Union leaders have been holding talks with Ineos in a last-minute attempt to prevent the closure of the facility.

Mr Cameron said: "We want to see those jobs saved, we want to see this business thrive, and I'm hopeful that agreements will be reached."
