Pavlo Lapshyn sentencing: Mohammed Saleem family statement

The family of Mohammed Saleem have said their father had not done anything to deserve to die, other than be a Muslim.

Pavlo Lapshyn, 25, has been jailed for at least 40 years for the murder of Mr Saleem, 82, and plotting explosions near mosques in racist attacks.

In a statement read outside the Old Bailey, Mr Saleem's family said they hoped the case would serve as a deterrent to others who would want to plot acts of violence.
