Syria UK doctor death: Mother's grief

The mother of a British doctor who died in a Syrian prison has said her son was in the country to help "women and children" and did not treat terrorists.

Dr Abbas Khan was arrested 48 hours after landing in Syria in November 2012 and died in custody last week. His family have denied claims he took his own life.

In a tearful interview with the BBC's Lyse Doucet, Mr Khan's mother Fatima said she was surprised that the Syrian regime "cannot differentiate between a humanitarian aid worker and a terrorist".

Mrs Khan was interviewed alongside her son Afroze.
