Paedophile: 'I pose risk' without prison rehab

A convicted paedophile has claimed that prisons are not offering proper help to sex offenders.

There are over 11,000 prisoners in jail for sex offences, but only 1,000 places on rehabilitation courses.

"Frank," a paedophile who was freed from prison without treatment, told BBC Radio 5 live Investigates: "I do pose a risk and I will do until I do get the help I need."

Justice Minister Jeremy Wright said the government made no apology for holding more sex offenders in prison than ever before and was increasing the availability of programmes.

5live Investigates is broadcast on BBC Radio 5live on Sunday 9 February at 11:00 GMT.
