UK floods: Dutch pumps to remove tonnes of water
Two pumps from The Netherlands are being used to try to reduce water levels in the flooded Somerset Levels.
The 13 Dutch pumps were brought in by the Environment Agency and will be used to divert water to try and cut levels on the River Tone.
The two high-capacity pumps currently operating are situated in Dunball - others have been installed in Beerwall.
When they all are up and running they will move 7.3 million tonnes of water each day from the Somerset Levels
