Phone hacking trial: Andy Coulson 'authorised payments'

Former News of the World Editor Andy Coulson authorised payments of £500 a week to monitor the phones of people close to Princes William and Harry, the Old Bailey has heard.

Giving evidence for the third day, the paper's former Royal Editor Clive Goodman said the practice had led to a number of stories.

Mr Coulson, who is one of a further six on trial, denies conspiracy to hack phones and conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office.

Tom Symonds reports.
