UK Syria fighters: Cardiff 'does have extremism issue' - imam

An imam from Cardiff has said that he spoke out against young Muslims travelling abroad seven months ago, after he learned Nasser Muthana had left the UK.

Speaking to the BBC, Sheikh Zane Abdo from South Wales Islamic Centre also said that it was "obvious" that there was a problem with extremism in Cardiff.

In recent days Mr Muthana has appeared in an apparent recruitment video for jihadists in Iraq and Syria, which featured several Britons.

His younger brother, Aseel, 17, travelled abroad in February, several months after Nasser left.
