Driverless cars will be on UK roads from January 2015

Driverless cars are set to take to the roads in the UK from next January, they will guided by a system of sensors and cameras.

The approval for the cars was given by Business Secretary Vince Cable, who took a ride in one and said the technology has "very, very large" potential.

However the Liberal Democrat MP did admit that travelling in a car without a driver was "slightly unnerving" though he described the drive as "very smooth".
