Morgan: 500 more free schools will be 'effective'

The number of free schools in England will more than double to over 900 by 2020 if the Conservatives are re-elected, David Cameron is to announce.

But Labour has criticised the proposals - saying that free schools lead to school places where they are not needed.

Speaking to the BBC, Education Secretary Nicky Morgan defended that plans, saying that free schools were both popular and effective.
