Archbishop Justin Welby: 'Migrant crisis is appalling'

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby says the migrant situation in Europe is "the most appalling and enormous crises that the world has faced".

David Cameron has said the UK will provide resettlement to "thousands" more Syrian refugees, although no specific figure has been decided.

Archbishop Welby says Europe as a whole needs to work together on the issue, but that the immediate response should be one of compassion.
