Storm Desmond: Flood waters expected to peak

Torrential rain and severe gusts have brought more floods and disruption to parts of northern England and Scotland.

More than 1,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in parts of Cumbria and the Scottish Borders.

Water levels are expected to reach their peak in Cumbria later, and more than 50 severe flood warnings are in place.
