Jo Cox MP attack: Police announce death of politician
West Yorkshire Police have said they are not looking for anybody else in connection with a shooting and stabbing which left an MP dead.
Jo Cox, 41, Labour MP for Batley and Spen, was left bleeding on the ground by her attacker on Thursday afternoon.
A 52-year-old man was arrested near Market Street, Birstall, close to where the MP held a weekly advice surgery.
The force's temporary Chief Constable Dee Collins announced the news of the MP's death at a press conference.
