Councils bid to reclaim £500,000 owed by overseas drivers

Thousands of pounds in parking fines owed by drivers of cars registered abroad is going uncollected across the south.

A Freedom of Information request by BBC South Today has revealed more than £500,000 is owed to authorities in Oxfordshire, Portsmouth and Southampton alone.

Some councils are now taking measures to track down drivers overseas in a bid to reclaim the lost revenue.
