Winter repairs on Kennet and Avon Canal in Bath

Sludge specialists in Bath have braved the mud at the bottom of the Kennet and Avon Canal which has been drained so essential repair works can be carried out.

The lock gates need to be kept in tip-top condition so boats can make the most of the beautiful canal, which has been in use for almost 300 years.
