Marines move Calstock trapped landslip vehicles

Royal Marines are moving dozens of cars which were trapped by a landslip in a Cornish village.

About 40 vehicles were stranded after a road collapse caused by a landslip in Calstock, on Christmas Day.

Charlie Southcott, 10, suggested bringing in the marines after meeting a senior officer at a carol service.

The marines are moving the cars on to a landing craft and they are being taken by river to Cotehele Quay, in a two-day operation.
