Folkestone remembers being gateway to the trenches

An exhibition has opened in the Kent town which was known as the gateway to the trenches during World War One.

Millions of soldiers marched through Folkestone along a street now called the Road of Remembrance on their way to fight.

The Step Short exhibition is among a series of WW1 centenary commemorations building up to 4 August, when Prince Harry will unveil the town's new Memorial Arch.
