London cyclists urged to increase bike security

Cyclists in London are being encouraged to register their bikes to prevent them from being stolen.

On average 1,700 bikes are stolen in the city each month, but bike thefts have fallen by around 10 per cent over the last three years, according to the police.

BBC London's Helen Drew spoke to the Mayor of London's Cycling Commissioner Andrew Gilligan, Charlie Lloyd, from the London Cycling Campaign, and Ch Insp Genna Telfer from the Metropolitan Police's Cycle Task Force.
