Does having a Muslim name make it harder to get a job?

A BBC investigation has found employers are less likely to consider applicants with Muslim-sounding names.

Professor Tariq Modood from the University of Bristol said the research by Inside Out London proved recruiters were biased in favour of those with more traditional British names.

Research by his department previously found Muslim men are 76% less likely to be employed than their white Christian counterparts.
