Shropshire museum displays the WW2 love letters sent between two soldiers
Hundreds of secret wartime letters have come to light telling the love story of two gay soldiers.
They were sent by infantryman Gordon Bowsher to his lover Gunner Gilbert Bradley, who was stationed at Park Hall Camp in Oswestry, Shropshire, from 1939.
At the time, not only was homosexuality illegal, but those in the armed forces could be shot for having sex.
The letters, which stopped in 1944 as the couple went on to live separate lives, were discovered after Gilbert Bradley's death and are on display at Oswestry Town Museum.
