Somerset floods: 'Long-term' flood relief plan needed

A "sustainable plan" is needed to combat the ongoing risk of flooding in the Somerset Levels, the Environment Agency has said.

David Rooke, the organisation's director of floods, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that a "partnership" between the government, Environment Agency and local communities will be needed to effectively manage the region.

His comments come as a £100m, 20-year Flood Action Plan is due to be begin.
