Thieves swipe £30k clothes in Oxted sledgehammer shop raid

Clothes worth £30,000 were stolen when thieves smashed their way into an independent shop using a sledgehammer.

Des Hensler, co-owner of Gas Station Jeans in Oxted said two men attached cables to the metal shutters outside the window, tied the other ends to a car and drove off, ripping the shutters away.

The men are then captured on CCTV using a sledgehammer to shatter the glass door of the shop.

They left with piles of clothes in expensive brands including Levi's and Tommy Hilfiger.

Surrey Police is investigating.
