English forest changes 'being rammed through', says former Tory MEP
Author, environmentalist and former Tory MEP Stanley Johnson claims changes to forests in England are "being rammed through" by the coalition government.
But Iain Duncan Smith, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, claimed "a lot of nonsense" was being said about the proposed sell-off, and 70 per cent of woodlands were already in private hands.
He also cited Epping Forest which he claimed was "brilliantly run" but not by the government.
