Spend more on international aid, says Lord Dannatt

The former head of the British army appealed to politicians to raise spending on international aid once the current economic problems are over, adding wars were more expensive than helping to support foreign countries.

Lord Dannatt, formerly Sir Richard Dannatt, said: "Charity starts at home people say, but I think there are strong grounds to be altruistic and move to moral ground on this issue."
