Iain Duncan Smith: Convicted looters could lose benefits

Nearly 200,000 people have signed a petition calling for people convicted of looting to lose their benefits.

The Liberal Democrats say that will only lead to an increase in theft.

The Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith spoke to BBC News and said that he was looking into ways to ensure those convicted of criminal offences lose their benefits but said the key issue was rescuing young people from gangs.
