Clegg: 'Gaddafi regime is cornered'

The Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, has said it is "only a matter of time" before Colonel Gaddafi is defeated in Libya.

He was speaking after chairing a meeting of the National Security Council.

Colonel Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam, has appeared before cheering supporters in Tripoli, a day after rebel forces said they had captured him.

But Mr Clegg played down the significance of this development.
