Budget 2012: Higher duty on cigarettes to deter smoking
Duty on all tobacco products will go up by 5% above inflation from tonight, putting 37p on a packet of cigarettes, Chancellor George Osborne has announced.
Delivering his Budget, he also said a machine games duty would be introduced, but duty on alcohol would remain unchanged.
