PM on Boris Johnson Hillsborough Spectator article
David Cameron claimed that "people need to come to their senses and realise this is what happened" when asked about past comments from the Mayor of London about the Hillsborough disaster.
The prime minister was questioned by Labour MP Yasmin Qureshi about Boris Johnson's "derogatory" comments in 2004.
Mr Johnson was editor of the Spectator when it published an article claiming Liverpool was wallowing in victim status after the murder of hostage Ken Bigley. The article criticised the city's "failure to acknowledge" the "part played" in the Hillsborough disaster "by drunken fans".
The then MP for Henley was sent to the city by the then-Conservative leader, Michael Howard, to apologise in person for the comments.
