Bernard Hogan-Howe on Andrew Mitchell officer arrest
Police have warned against jumping to conclusions following the arrest of a Diplomatic Protection Squad officer in the investigation about the leaking of information about the former Tory Chief Whip Andrew Mitchell.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe said there was "more to this than meets the eye" and hoped people would support his actions when they "hear the full story".
But he said legal constraints meant he could not speak more of the case stemming back to a conversation between the Conservative MP and police officers in Downing Street.
