Benefits cuts to restore fair balance, says IDS

MPs will vote on plans to introduce real term cuts to benefits and tax credits.

The proposed 1% annual increase will be lower than inflation.

Labour says the cut will affect more working families than those who are out of work but the Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan-Smith argues the changes are about fairness to taxpayers.
