Mark Littlewood on Lord Rennard sex allegations

The Liberal Democrat head of media from 2004-08, when Lord Rennard was the party's chief executive, said he heard "not a whisper or a sniff or a rumour" of the current claims about the peer, and no journalists asked him about them during that time.

Mark Littlewood said he started to hear rumours in 2008, as Jo Coburn asked him about the timing of the allegations and the possible effect on Thursday's Eastleigh by-election.

Lord Rennard denies the allegations - aired last week on Channel 4 News - by four women of sexual impropriety, which predate Nick Clegg's leadership.
