Replacing the submarine-launched Trident nuclear missiles is an issue that divides the coalition.
They can be seen as an expensive hangover from the Cold War era, ill-suited to defend Britain's interests today, or a necessary deterrent to protect the UK from countries like Iran or North Korea.
