Minister: New childcare cost plans 'fairer'

Education and childcare minister Elizabeth Truss says new plans for parents to be able to claim back up to £1,200 per year per child for childcare are fairer and simpler.

Under the government plans, parents will be able to claim back 20% out of a total of around £6,000 - what they believe to be the average annual price of a childcare place.

Ms Truss told BBC Breakfast that no-one would be "worse off in cash terms".
