Hague defends Parliament recall for Thatcher tribute

Foreign Secretary William Hague says Parliament should be recalled to pay tribute to Baroness Thatcher who died following a stroke on Monday.

David Cameron will lead the tributes in the House of Commons on Wednesday during a specially convened session of parliament.

Labour's John Mann said the recall was a waste of taxpayers' money, while Respect MP George Galloway described it as a "state-organised eulogy".

However, former Conservative leader Mr Hague said: "It is right that parliament meets and commemorates the achievements of a leader of such historic proportions."
